METC 105 Introduction to Engineering Technology

Provides the beginning engineering technology student with the basic tools necessary for success in their chosen field. Topics include a survey of engineering technology careers, problem-solving, introduction to engineering mathematical and statistical concepts, technical laboratories, data presentation and report writing, use of scientific calculators, engineering calculations, metrology, use of spreadsheets for data analysis and presentation, and engineering ethics and responsibilities.

For this class, because it was my second time taking an introduction to engineering class, rather than attending the regular class with first semester students I was given a design project. I was to design a PLC trainer and assemble it. I used my experience writing for the reports, my skills with SolidWorks for the main design, and my knowledge of circuits for the assembly.
